Avengers 4 Title Could Be ‘Avengers: Annihilation’ Taken From Comics [Rumor]

Avengers 4 is undoubtedly the most anticipated film of 2019. Every single rumor about the film, it’s title or even the cast members is enough to get fans excited.

Last month, the Russo brothers posted a teasing set picture asking fans to “look harder” into it. Fans were quick enough to spot two A’s in the picture which they guessed could be a clue to Avengers 4 title. Some believed the A’s hint at the title being Avengers: Assemble. But, now, a new report coming from MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad who claims a reliable source has revealed to him that the Avengers 4 title could be Avengers: Annihilation.

It should be noted that the title of the two previous Avengers films, Age of Ultron and Infinity War, were taken from big comic book storylines, without having much to do with the comic story. As per comic book storylines, Age of Ultron was a time-travel story, while the Infinity War comic was a sequel to the events of Infinity Gauntlet.

Now coming back to Avengers: Annihilation, the alleged title shares name with Keith Giffen’s 2006 Marvel Comics miniseries. The comic book story saw Marvel’s cosmic characters battle out against Annihilus, the lord of the Negative Zone. Interestingly, Thanos plays a unique role in the event and gets killed by Drax the Destroyer and joining forces with Mistress Death.

We would advise our readers to take the information with a pinch of salt as the makers haven’t yet officially confirmed Avengers 4 title.

It is rumored that Avengers 4 may be the last film for a couple of fan-favorite Marvel characters including Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. Actor Chris Evans’ latest tweet, which confirms that he has wrapped up production on Avengers 4, also hints that his time as Captain America is finally coming to an end.

Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful,” Evans posted on Twitter. You can check out the tweet below.

Avengers 4 is set to release in theatres on May 3, 2019.
