Zack Snyder has once again sparked a new conversation over the possible continuation of the filmmakers’ Zack Snyder’s Justice League flick released a few months ago. The director sounded off a new wave of dissent among DC fans after posting a cryptic video wishing a happy Thanksgiving to his followers on Vero, but the catch? The footage shows a reference to DC Comics’ Final Crisis issue.
Snyder posting on social media platform Vero usually ends up making a statement for fans to embrace while demanding Warner Bros. to restore the Snyderverse. The new video has some hoping it could be a sign of an upcoming announcement regarding a Justice League sequel and the wrap-up of Snyder’s planned arc for the DCEU.
Snyder posted a small clip showing a turkey made for Thanksgiving and captioned the post, “Thankful.” But fans were more interested in the background where a copy of Absolute Final Crisis was spotted along with a pair of books, possibly to take notes, fans presume. Readers can check it out below.
He’s literally a director, y’all really think this slow pan and adjustment halfway through the video to make sure the final crisis book is perfectly in frame is an accident? 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/POosVxiilI

The new post has Snyder fans putting on their tinfoil hat to speculate why the director could be reading DC Comics’ Final Crisis. Some are under the presumption that a continuation to 2021’s Justice League news is around the corner. Few also noted it could be just the filmmaker enjoying a good read on the holiday. Nonetheless, it’s got the director as well as the Snyderverse movement trending again.

Hay una frase que Zack Snyder ama, y es la siguiente: "A la vista de toda la humanidad, e invisible al mismo tiempo."

Warner Bros. currently has no near-future plans to pursue a Justice League 2 especially with upcoming standalone films/sequels such as Aquaman 2 exploring a story within the character’s arc without any reference to a larger extended world-building. Justice League producer Charles Roven recently shared his interest to work on a sequel to Zack Snyder’s film while discussing his interest to also pursuing a sequel to James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
“…But still have an affiliation with some more Suicide Squads, which I’m thrilled about. I hope James will, when he’s got some time, come back and see if he’s going to do another one of these, because he did such an amazing job. I would definitely be a part of that,” said Roven. Probably another Justice League, although I think that’s a number of years away.”
At the moment, 2017 released Justice League is considered canon for the DC Extended Universe. Zack Snyder has also referred to this 4-hour director’s cut as an ‘Elseworlds’ confirming it is not part of the main universe. It will be interesting if the studio inclines to allow the filmmaker to complete his story as an Elseworld Quintology arc.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is available to stream on HBO Max. The DC film is also available for purchase on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
